Since 2016, neighbors around Mifflin Square Park have been working collaboratively to improve the quality of life for people living in the neighborhood near the park and the South 7th Street Commercial Corridor. Our neighborhood is one of the most diverse communities in Philadelphia.

This project aims to build community power and prosperity, improve Mifflin Square Park, strengthen businesses on South 7th Street, preserve and expand affordable housing, and advance accountable development.

At Mifflin Square Park, this work includes three efforts: Mifflin Square Park planning & design, Our Plan for Our Neighborhood, and Vendor Village in Mifflin Square Park.

Vendor Village in Mifflin Square Park

Vendor Village aims to support local entrepreneurs and build a vibrant Mifflin Square Park. The goal is to create a stronger local economy within our diverse community that also connects to the adjacent South 7th Street Commercial Corridor. Selected entrepreneurs will get a chance to run a food business on the SoPhiE (South Philly East) food truck at Mifflin Square Park and events around Philadelphia. We provide technical support such as ServSafe food safety training, basic business training and building access to capital to start their own small businesses.

Vendor Village runs in Mifflin Square Park each year from the end of April through the end of October, each Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

In addition to the SoPhiE Food Truck (Wednesdays and Fridays), the Vendor Village is also home to the Novick Urban Farmstand (Wednesdays), Fishadelphia CSF (Wednesdays), and the Vetri Mobile Teaching Kitchen (Wednesdays).
