A Look Back on the Weekend

This past weekend, Jefferson University hosted a free health screening at Mifflin Square Park for the community. Access to free blood and glucose screenings are valuable and we appreciate all the volunteers who made this event possible. In addition, State Representative Fielder and State Senator Farnese enjoyed iced coffee from the SoPhiE food truck and shared with the community their ongoing support for the park, South 7th Street, and the food truck! It was a fun filled weekend at Mifflin Square Park and we are excited to keep enjoying the different summer programs!

Singing in the Rain

On Friday, June 28, Modero and SEAMAAC co-hosted Karaoke in the Park and it was a success! We heard so many great songs from all ages and even ended the night with a competition. The first place winner got a free meal from the SoPhiE food truck. Thank you to everyone who participated and we hope that the fun you had added sunshine to your day despite the rain!

U on Tour Made A Visit to Mifflin Square Park

On Friday, May 31, 2019, the “U on Tour” came to Mifflin Square Park and had great soccer games and prizes for the community. This free event was made possible the Philadelphia Union, who were making their first visit to the park. We saw a lot of our neighbors come to the park in their Philadelphia Union jerseys and after all the fun that so many people had, we’re sure the Philadelphia Union gained a few more fans. Check out the different games that the “U on Tour” brought like their Independence Blue Cross Inflatable Field for fans to have a 5v5 soccer game!

Love Your Park 2019

The Friends of Mifflin Square Park hosted a wonderful event this past Saturday that was in part of Love Your Park Week. The theme this year was reading so partners came together to host a literacy carnival with fun activities for all. Thank you to everyone who came and to those who made this event possible!

Comcast Cares Day 2019

Comcast Cares Day took place on May 4, 2019 and was made possible by Comcast and their many volunteers who worked hard to plant beautiful flowers at each entrance of Mifflin Square Park. Their efforts are also responsible for the two new tree benches that provide extra shaded seating for those hot summer days. A big thank you goes out to everyone who made the day possible and a special thanks to the Philly Phanatic for bringing their energetic spirit!
