Key Elementary school students tend and care for the garden!

On Friday mornings, students from Key Elementary School come help tend Mifflin Square Park’s Gathering Garden by watering the plants and raking the leaves surrounding the garden. It has been a really enjoyable experience and the students learned how to correctly water, plant, and tend to the garden. Students expressed their desires  to continue tending the flowers and plants located around the park.

On Sunday, November 19, residents and park users took park in an engaging conversation around park design options for the park. We heard enthusiasm and hope for the future of Mifflin Square Park and how if we work together we can achieve the park that will unite communities and create a dynamic shared space. Thank you to the team at HECTOR, our partners at Friends of Mifflin Square, BAO-P and the many community leaders and teams who came out to support, volunteer and interpret for the day. It was a packed house and we heard over 9 languages spoken at the focus group discussion!
